Luke 11:1-4
The Disciples' Prayer

There is a date that will forever be etched in the history of the United States. It was a date that America responded to what happened in Pearl Harbor. The date, August 6 1945. There is also a name that is important with this date as well. It is a name that you may or may not know. The name was Paul Tibbets. What happened on this date and why is the name Paul Tibbets important? This was the date that “Little Boy” was dropped on Hiroshima. Who was Paul Tibbets? Paul Tibbets was the man responsible for flying the plane to its destination. He left the base at 2:45am on August 6 and just 5.5 hours later the bomb was dropped. Why do I tell you his name? He was responsible for delivering the most powerful weapon to its destination. He knew his mission and he completed that mission.  History Channel, “WWII,” http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/atomicbomb-is-dropped-on-hiroshima.html

“There is a great need in this dayfor Christians in the business world to infuse their mundane affairs with the spirit of prayer. There is a great army of successful businesspeople in Christ’s church, and it is high time they attend to this matter. We need to put God into business. In other words, we need to put the realization and restraint of His presence and His fear into all the secularities of life .” EM Bounds

“In learning to pray, no laboratory is needed but a room; no apparatusbut ourselves. The living God is the field of force into which we enter in prayer, and the only really fatal failure is to stop praying and not to begin again.” (Douglas V. Steere)
