Our Team

Bro. Scott Young received the Lord as his personal Savior on October 19, 1991 at the age of 12. After completing high school, he went on to Louisiana Baptist University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 2007, his Master’s Degree in 2011, and his Ph.D. in Biblical Studies in 2014. In that same year, Pastor Scott also wrote a book entitled Prayer, Praise, and Possibilities, which is available in paperback or Kindle edition on Amazon.

Bro. Scott is married to his wife, Jessica, and they have two children, Bryan and Rachel, as well as one grandchild, Everly. He and his family moved to Kingsport from Chattanooga, Tennessee in October 2014.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5–6 is Bro. Scott’s favorite Bible verse, and he strives to live his life according to this truth.

When he is not at the church, Bro. Scott enjoys spending time with his family, especially traveling with his wife to visit missionaries supported by their church. He also enjoys eating at LongHorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden, or Chick-fil-A, and when time permits, he likes to play golf, play his trumpet, and relax with those he loves. His favorite sports teams are the Atlanta Braves and the Florida State Seminoles.
